Does anyone think these might be a good deal? I can also get them 2% cheaper with eBay Bucks... BU Peace Dollars Seller guarantees at least 3 different dates with the purchase of 4.
If one was to buy 20 to get the circulated 1921, they would spend $699. For $450 to $525, you could get a graded/slabbed 1921 MS-63, which would be a standout coin for a collection. I lucked out at auction and got an MS-64 for $700. Nope. This isn't a good deal.
I stay away from these types of random sales, unless it's for a modern bullion coin. Why are you looking at listings like this? Are you looking to fill a hole in an album? The reason for the purchase might change my opinion of whether to buy one of these or not.
For that price, I'd almost guarantee you don't get a 1921 as advertised. If I had an unlimited bankroll, I'd order 100 and when I didn't get any 1921's I'd declare "not as described" and make an issue of it. If it was listed as 22-25, I'd just pass anyways. A 22-23 in MS64 is under $50 per coin slabbed right now. 24 and 25 don't get much premium over that either. Feedback is icing on the cake. Several issues with things listed as BU.
Yea for that price you can't reasonably expect to get a 1921. Especially when the seller says in description that you will get one with purchase of 20. That pretty much implies that just buying a couple won't work to get a 1921. The listing is absolutely sneaky. Not so much in that you probably won't get a 1921, but that the 1921 won't be in BU condition like the title says. Read the description.
Nope--I think this is a sight/unseen sale. You don't even know which specific coins are being distributed when you purchase one. I'd avoid that, as one can do as well with specific coins.
I didn't remember seeing those details in the description last time I read. It appears that you will get a circulated 1921 Peace Dollar with the purchase of 20 overpriced common date peace dollars. Selling empty chance promises instead of a product. But wait, there's more...
So if you order 20 coins, you will receive (16) 1922 P, (1) 1923 p, (1) 1924 p, (1) 1925 p and (1) 1921 P in AG condition.
Technically it's an illegal lottery, but eBay don't care.... (eBay makes the Honey Badger seem like a caring member of society)
