Good deal? 1803 $1 fine details $999

    Interesting. It would be even more interesting if the ad, photos, and seller exhibited a bit more legitimacy.

    Fine details goes for $2000 typically? Its in a details holder, problem coins go for less than problem free, usually a lot less.

    The coin has been plugged and harshly cleaned. It might seem cheap to buy, but wait until you nearly have to give it away when you need to sell.

    Didn't notice a plug, but I didn't look for one either. It's not just cleaned though, looks polished which really hurts. Yep I see the plug now. It may have fine details but I would net grade it somewhere around Fair-2. I don't think it is a good deal at that price.

    Shows what I know! I thought it had good details.


    Does polishing hurt coins price more than just cleaning? A member in here has/had an 1834 bust AU that was polished, wanted $100. I was very tempted.

    Polishing destroys the numismatic value of a coin.

    i would say a big pass on that. horrible pictures and the seller only has 6 feedback
