Today I was asked to play in a Charity Tournament at a Local Golf Course... My neighbor had made all the arrangements....the round went well (we took 3rd Place) and when we finished, off to the Club House for the Raffle Drawing and Dinner. I was talking to a friend of my neighbors when the Bar Maid gave me my change...this guy noticed I was looking at all the notes carefully and asked "what are you looking at" ?...well I told him. He said he went to an ATM on the way to the course and got $200 cash, $100 for the entry fee and the other for pocket money...he pulled out his $20's and they were all consecutive # Series 2006 Star Notes from the Kansas City Fed Bank....being in his wallet they already had a center fold but other than that were crisp. I asked where he got them and he told me about an ATM in a nearby town... Can you guess why I am up at 1:30 AM writing this?? You bet cha... I could not sleep knowing that was only a few miles from my house..LOL I got up, went to the ATMs (1 drive up and 1 walk up) and took out $100 from each machine...did I get stars?? Heck no... but I did get Razor sharp new $20s from one machine ( drive up) all Series 2006 in consecutive order from the Chitown Bank....and the walk up machine I got 10 consecutive numbered NY Series 2006 $10 notes. The centering and margins are Gem on the $20s and the $10s are just as nice but the lower margin is off a wee bit. He must have hit it just right and got a grouping of stars in that batch. I think I might frequent that ATM for a while...you just never know now do you?? RickieB
so being a collector... did you bargain with him to get his $20 stars?? stars are everywhere to be found... but unless you have a large group looking for them for you - its a nedle in a haystack finding them lol
Naaaa.. the way they were in his wallet made a funny looking fold along the notes features... I forgot to mention that I won a Autographed Red Sox Baseball in the raffle..LOL AJ loved it. RickieB
