Golden Coin?

Hello-Went through a box a cents and came across this. Is it just funny colored, error, or what? The rim is also this color, and feels like it weighs less than any other cent. (haven't been able to get it on a scale yet though)

I think you have a plating error, most common in 1982.

 

Eight to five, and half your money back if you lose, that's one more escapee from a high school chem lab experiment in metal plating.

 

Looks like a washing machine job in a strong bleach wash, LOL...

 

I've held on to a few of those for conversation pieces.

Sorry guys, but these are commonly promoted in Coin World. The brassy look is from zinc planchets falling into the plating mix and causing the brass color in the plating.
They are slabbed as 'Brass" cents.
(As oppsed to copper plate).
I may have my chemistry mixed up, but that is how they are advertised.
