I found this "gold" colored 2003 in a roll today. It is hard to pick up the tone with the camera, so I placed it aside a "normal" 2003. I also noticed a flaw lines across lincolns nose. Any ideas?
The "flaws" are probably gas bubbles which are common on the zincoln's. The prominent one could also be a die scratch. As for the color of the cent, can't say for sure.
These happen fairly often. Usually it's caused by too much dissolved zinc in the plating bath. However, those are usually the same color on both sides. This coin could have just had some chemical exposure because it doesn't appear to be the same on both sides.
color Thanks for all the help..The coin is actually same color on both sides, just poor picture...Hard to get correct light. Thanks again
