I saw 100's of Unc Indian coins listed on ebay by a coin dealer who claims that all coins are gold plated, that is an antique and that the British Indian Government never minted them. I don't even understand what that means. First off, the seller doesn't communicate in english very well so take his translation with a grain of salt. Second, these are common Indian coins minted by the colonial govenment which have been gold plated and have no numismatic value because of it.

Because it's been gold plated, it's considered an altered coin. No TPG would ever grade one and I doubt you'd be able to sell one to any serious collector. Any attempt to remove the plating would most likely cause serious damage to the coin as well... I'd just pass on the works of them.
