I'm not big on anything plated, but they do look kind of Nice.... What matter thught is if you like'em... I'd really like to see how they just plate certian areas...
2 ways to plate selected areas, 1. use a plating pen 2.mask off areas of the coin that you don't want to plate with hot wax and dip in plating solution then remove wax,the pen is easier........
I have a few and find that they make good novelty talking points with people who have no interest in coins but like shiney stuff LOL, then I show them some of my other stuff and find the conversation goes easier De Orc :kewl:
My problem is trying to figure out what they are. With the plating they are no longer straight investment grade bullion rounds. The plating doesn't convert them into real circulating money. So what's left? A damaged non-numismatic "collectible"?
I think they look great. I also like the looks of the painted coins. Of course I would never buy one, have one, own one and if given me free I would just give it away. However, I still think they all look different and kind of nice as a work of art of something.
I really dislike gold plated coins, as Satooko says, they are not really coins, bullion coins, medal, etc......not really anything, just gimmicks.
