    Hey friends,
I had a thread up the other day showing off my 1908 error and someone said it was a fake. Well today just to ease my mind because it does look a tad different than my other Indian (1910), I took it back to my friend and local coin shop. He pulled out his metals spectrometer and blamo, it's 22k!!. As far as the error goes, here's a pic of the 1910 and then the 1908. The 1908 has the error on the neck, look at the difference. Sorry guys, I don't know how to draw a red ring around it, but it's in the same area as this seller on ebay's coin. :)So how much do you think I should ask for this error on the bay? :D

How accurate is his meter? I ask because 22 KT is too high for a genuine US coin. 22 KT is .9166 fine. Even if the metal content is correct that doesn't mean anything. The flood of middleastern counterfeits that came into this country in the 1950's and 60's were of proper fineness and weight OR HIGHER.
