Gold half dollars

    So my husband found these in his dad's old house. I've never seen gold half dollars. Are these real or did someone do this to the coins?

    Damaged and worth $.50 plus whatever extra someone is willing topay for the novelty, IMO.

    I have bought plated halves in copper, gold, etc. I wont pay more than 1.50 for them.
