Here is one of my favourite designs in the British milled coin series, this is in gold and the photograph does not do it justice. It is a 1910 Edward VII Crown in gold, unique from the Spink Patina Sale of 2001:
Meh. Call me old-fashioned, but I find it hard to compete with the standard reverse design for the Victoria/Edward Crowns of 1887-1902.
I find the style of the OP coin's reverse stiff when compared to the more dynamic depiction on the reverse of the older sovereigns. I think the flatter relief on the OP coin contributes to this effect.
Yes, I like it. I have a 1902 5 pounds matte with naturally the George slaying the Dragon reverse and as nice as it is prefer the above, esp the matte version...
