Now I could say I knew these but then I would not get antying from santa this year.....

I see them all over the place regards as well as pricing and they all look like women in a bar after 15 shots of tequile for me. All the same :)

Do I have the right type ?

Your coin is in better shape than most. While this is a fairly common issue, most are poorly struck, especially the reverse. Really sloppy examples, (barely making out the walls on reverse), commonly go for around $200. Yours? I am cheap, (so don't take offense), but I would say $500 would be a good price. It would be higher if the Virgin were more defined.

Like I said though, I am cheap. I am sure the same coin could be found on Vcoins for more.

I like these coins. What I like about them is the story they are telling the world. No longer is Byzantium trying to be a world power, but she is bragging her walls are so strong she cannot be defeated. When you are bragging how you have strong walls on your city, it kind of tells you what stage their civilization was in. :(

Btw, as to type, they also made these with Andronicus II and Andronicus III. I will admit I am not great at telling them apart.
