Gobrecht Dollar

    Very nice indeed. Got to see one of these in person once at the local shop. Price was just a little(okay who are we kidding a lot) out of my league.

    it's still AMAZING you can afford one even in a lower grade! My parents freak out at even a $200 buy...

    Personally I think Gobrecht's seated coinage with no stars (pattern Gobrecht dollar and no stars dime and half dime) is very close to the best looking American coin of all time!!

    I also have a repaired one, the eagle faces upward instead of horizontal. It's my second favorite type coin.

    For sheer attractive design it's a tough call for me between this the trade dollar and the st Gaudens $20 but my favorite type coin is the flowing hair ( I have a 1795 dollar and half ) hoping for a 1794 $1 someday if I strike it rich!
