Just a word of say - De Orc I'm not in this competition but will try to get people to participate:

The Aussie 50 cents coin especially the one that commemorates Prince Charles and Diana is NOTORIOUSLY difficult to find in circulation. I only found ONE in my four years here in Australia so you should feel LUCKY if you can find one!!!

 

Picked it up in a mixed lot LOL of no interest to me so I would rather that a few youngsters got em than they just sit here doing nothing :smile

Really?...I did a trade with a guy from over there once---sent him some stuff he won on the WINS auction and told him just to send me some change from over there for my collection....he sent me a ton of coins (I would guess 10-25) and that was one of them---I thought it was pretty cool!

You know Speedy, dealers actually sell them in coin shops here at about 8 times the face value in BU condition. Seems crazy doesn't it, for a coin that's not even worth any kind of precious metal value.

For a coin that's a good 20 odd years old, that's pretty neat. Most of the changes that I see these days are from 2000 onwards. Nevertheless, take it from the historical purpose - this is one of the happier times of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. If you love Princess Diana, well this is one cheap coin you can get!

 

coins for kids

My kids, age 10 and 13, love to collect foriegn coins and would be thrilled to recieve more. Thanks for the opportunity. It's a great thing you are doing to get young ones interested in collecting.:thumb: :hug:

Guys some of you need to go to your 'User Control Panel'
Click on 'Edit Options'
Then tick the little box that says 'Private Messages'

Then you will be able to send me your details.

To turn on Private Messaging:

1. Click on the words "USER CP" at the top of any page.
2. Click on "EDIT OPTIONS" in the list on the left side of the page.
3. Scroll down to the section on Private Messaging.
4. Locate the check box for "ENABLE PRIVATE MESSAGING'.
5. Click on that box to check mark it.
6. You can now send and receive Private Messages.
