    Cool design, especially the "map side" with the ornamental waves. Admittedly I had no idea what or where that island could be ... Looked it up ;)

    In 2007 the mint issued another Garibaldi coin, for the 200th birthday. That one shows the place where he was born in Nizza/Nice.

    Yes, neat coin, and an interesting historical character.

    As you probably knew, they also named a rather handsome fish after him.

    It's the island of Caprera off of the northern coast of Sardinia (Sardegna) where Garibaldi retired.
