    Nevadabell A picture of me.

From the 1960s until the 1980s Italy had Gettone Telefonico tokens. "Gettone" means "token" in Italian. They cost between 50 to 200 liras depending on the year. My particular token is numbered 7809 ESM.

    doug444 STAMPS and POSTCARDS too!

About every other year, I gather up the exonumia and put them on eBay. I have been pleasantly surprised at what some of that oddball stuff brings. I do not sell off CWT or H&K tokens or Good-For's, etc., those are keepers.

Here's a few of my favorite tokens:

    1. Brass boxing glove, "Col. Joe Anderson," rev., "Good for 5c in Trade."
    2. Good for 2½c (Cincinnati).
    3. Al's Cafe, barrel of beer, rev., "Good for 5c in Trade."
    4. Commemorative medallion, opening of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (1940),
rev., "A dream highway extending 160 miles on streamlilned 4-lane concrete,
    tunneling under 7 mountains."
    5. Recognition token, Woodmen of the World (a fraternal organization founded
in 1890), and still functioning as a specialty insurance company.
