Any advice on how/where to get boxes of coins? I usually go to a US Bank branch, and I've asked a teller if they have boxes of pennies. The teller said they have trays ($10 each). Should I ask if I can buy or order a box of coins? Or should I just go to a different bank. Also, does US Bank usually have CWR?
Most banks will allow account-holders to order the boxes, but more and more of them are starting to apply a service charge. A lot of people don't realize that they have to pay fees to have them re-wrapped by their supplier. Chris
Yes - my bank is a really small branch but they will order boxes if you request. I found out though don't dump the box back at the bank you got it from -
It depends... they're usually more helpful if you have an account with them. I've had good success with the Wells Fargo branches in my area, but the Bank Of America branch near me seems to hate coin collectors.
So you just go into the bank and ask if they have boxes on hand that you can buy? Or do they have to order them?
My bank is small - I ask for them then the teller will call me when the box shows up! And make sure you get there to pick it up on time or else they won't waste their time any more!!
Yeah, that's it. The Chase I go to gets their delivery from the Fed on Monday so that's when I go to get the brand new boxes. They also have the new quarters for $500 a box when they come out, but I usually only get pennies and nickels.
