I'm affraid to go all the way after failures They both can use some more cleaning, but I exposed the metal and stoped. The 2nd not quite so dramatic, one of my more recent cleanings, so I'm gettin a lil better.
I used soda pop on the 1st one at first , then soaked it in olive oil and purified water . then used a tooth brush and just water and oil for the 2nd, no soda
nope sorry, I will next time . The first one a crusty though. when I get some money I might look into it more
Randy, Here is a suggestion. I think it might make an interesting thread: Take a series of photos of a coin (or coins) all the way through the cleaning process. You could start with the crusty. Next describe the processes you use to clean it and post a photo for each step along the way. You could have a series of photos for each method of cleaning.
nice Constantiniana Dafne coin there. A fairly uncommon find in uncleaned lots. Congratulations! I'll say it again, as I have a thousand times. Follow this guy's instructions: http://www.nobleromancoins.com/ The Gringott's products he uses & sells work wonders, when used correctly.
I'll see if I can pick up and uncleaned one later this weak and do that thanks! but that means i ruined a more rare of a coin
