Beautiful imitation of a Roman Republic denarius struck by the Geto-Dacians in Romania. This coin had some toning when I bought it which has developed wonderfully over the past few years in my trays. SOLD. One of the best solid silver imitative denarii you will ever come across and certainly the best I ever owned. Most come far more worn than this, or with bad surfaces. Watch the video, the pictures do not do it justice! Imitations of Roman Republic coinage, unknown group(possibly Geto-Dacian?), AR denarius(18mm, 3.59g), after 61 B.C. Types of C. Calpurnius Piso Frugi. Laureate head of Apollo right; behind, Π / Horseman right with palm; above, star; below, CΓISOLΓ. Cf. Crawford 408/1a, obv. die 6(Π), rev. die 14(star) for prototype This picture was in too-hash lighting when I first bought the coin Some more recent photos taken with my cell phone: Compare with recent Geto-Dacian denarii sold by CNG: here and here
