    Hey all,
I'm kind of new to this and have collected coins over the years from my travels, and looking through my collection today, I came accross one that I don't really remember but it is dated from 1780 and I'm wondering if anyone knows about possible value of coins this age, and any possible history behind something like this...

Greetings and Welcome to the list. It's an Austrian Maria Thersa Thaler which has been constantly restruck since 1780. Your's is probably worth $25 and with the price of silver I'd say hang onto it :)

The Maria Theresa's have a wealth of history that every world coin collector should become familiar with. Here is a link to a great website with a ton of information, including instructions on how to determine when your restrike was minted.

    Enjoy. :D
