I just picked up a few foreign coins for $0.25 each, the best one of the lot is this German 1950 G 1 mark with side scroll work on the rims, id say it grades AU.

no photo's since don't have a cam or scanner but here is an auction with photo's for the same coin, but mine is in better condition especially on the denticles

    http://cgi.ebay.com/VERY-RARE-GERMA...Z8332191924QQcategoryZ540QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The book has it marked as $100 for UNC, any know know its aprox value for bit better cond then that auc one but still not fully UNC

Also got my first middle east coin, think its only worth about $1 but not totally sure.

It is: Morocco 1987 1407 1 Dirham VF

pic of the same coin can be found here, middle of the page (just wish mine was in that shape though :p )

I'm sorry but untill we can see photos of the "real deal" we can't give an idea on the value...someone can say I have a coin in better grade...but that can mean many things...so find a friend of yours that has a cam or a scanner and get some photos to us!

Ya always a problem with out the photo's, just hoped to get a better idea and confirm that even that auc is a proper price for it. Going by that coins price id say this ones $30-50 but then the book says XF = $5 UNC $100.. huge jump in value, so any thing under fully UNC may not be worth much at all and that auc could be very high priced.

closest friend with a scanner is 3 hours away, and none with a digi cam so getting one won't be easy.. Guess I need better line of friends, maybe hang around the photo shops :p

though I will have my own by December, so after then can start posting em :) sure make things like this much easier.

Now that is a funny auction.
    VERY RARE ?
    RARE “G” MINTMARK ?
Yeah, right. Only 40 million pieces of that year/mintmark combination were made. In excellent condition, let alone proof, it is indeed rare. Other than that, that coin is quite common ...
