I have 3, but can't find the 3rd. Anyway last night when I was looking at them they appeared to be different, is there anywhere I can check the amount of varieties of these ?

1781 is reference 168 in token book value £20 in fair
could the other be 1769 which would be reference 165 value £20 fair-----these are interesting and quite rare-they are not copies of regal issues so could not be judged as forgeries--half the population were illiterate at the time and could not tell the difference between these and regal issues.the fact that they were not forgeries enabled the issuer to evade the rope. the token book states -if you like a challenge, however, this series is that and more !!!!!

Cool ! Only paid a couple of quid each for them will take a proper look at the date tonight!
I may have to purchase this book because I love evasions, I know about the noose business and the fact people were illiterate. Apparently it was boulton who instigated the great re-coinage fur to the amount of forgeries he had encountered.

Oh and I guess these would count as fair ? Given that most of these coins were struck to look like worn examples anyway ? Atleast that's what I guess haha.

Definitely 1760, I imagine the amount of varieties would be unreal but very interesting!
