Hi All I have 4x George III coins but thats about all i know. Could anyone tell me a bit more about them & if they are worth anything. Many thanks Amanda
They are all quite common and have minimal value - a few dollars at most. If you'd like to know about the coinage of Great Britain, try the links you find here - United Kingdom
Great coins Amanda here is the one I have I only know they're copper, the mintage is unknown to me and omitted from the books I poses
The one on top is called a "Cartwheel". I bought one recently and was shocked at how big it was...massive! Yours all appear to have been cleaned...and, as Doug said, are fairly common. I don't know enough about them to assign a price. Here's a picture of mine...I paid $36, but don't know if that was good or bad...sometimes you just "want" a coin! :goofer:
In the lower grades, they aren't worth much, but in the higher grades they are worth hundreds of pounds (or their equivilent in dollars). They were quite easily damaged, being made of soft copper, so they are quite scarce in EF-UNC....
Yes, they can be valuable sometimes. But a great deal depends on what the individual coin is. As a general rule however, even in Gem condition the majority of the coins from this period are worth less than $200. This one example, I bought it 6 years ago. It was graded MS65. Cost, including shipping and evrything was $137.
