I just noticed that I have this medal. http://coins.ha.com/common/view_item.php?SaleNo=1100&LotIdNo=60006&txtSearch=&hdnSearch=true#Photo# That one is 65mm mine is 66 (using inches to mm conversion) and that one is 138g and according to my scale mine is 131g. Otherwise they are exactly the same. Mine has some spotting to the left of his head and possibly some minor rubbing from being in someone's pockets on the edge but otherwise it looks uncirculated. I know the pics aren't great, they were just a reference.
Now that is cool. Plattsburgh is my hometown. I didn't even know they had medals made with some the of the generals for the Battle of Plattsburgh. I saw the one from Heritage sold for $977. Yours looks to be in nice shape. I can see how the measurement from 66mm to 65mm might be off. The weight was off from 138 to 131 grams. Sure your scale is right on? Not sure if they made replicas of those medals. Sounds like it might be a good candidate for certification. Thanks for posting the medal! added note: here is a website for the local historical society. They may have more info on the medal http://www.clintoncountyhistorical.org/
