I know that this is not a detecting forum, but I decided to get your opinions. Where is the cheapest REALIABLE place to get the Garrett ACE 250. Cheapest I have found is at Sports Authority for $199.99 (http://www.sportsauthority.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1989422&cp&kw=ace+250) Anywhere cheaper than this? Thanks
Ok, thanks for the replies. :hail: Is there any other things that I need to purchuse with it?? Thanks
The two things you will need the most are a good digging tool and a good, comfortable set of headphones. For metal detecting, a $2 garden trowel just doesn't cut it. I went through at least 10 of them before I broke out $35 for a Lesche. Headphones make a huge difference as well. I ordered my ACE250 about a year ago, and it came with the ACE Sportphones. The ACE250 is a good machine, but the Sportphones were junk. I ended up having to take them off every time I stooped over to dig, because they would fall of my head or the wire would get caught on a branch. I took them off once, and promptly stepped on them. Crunch! I don't know what they're selling the ACE with now, but if it's the Sportphones, get yourself a good pair of the larger, more comfortable headphones, with dual volume adjustment. They go around $20-$25 at a local hobby shop or Radio Shack. It'll make a world of difference, and using headphones save a lot on battery life! Good luck!
