About a month or two ago I bought some "premium" uncleaned coins from Noble and found this interesting LRB-turned-gaming-token (I can only assume).

Most of you should be about to identify the original host coin type easily enough.

I'd love to see other coins turned into something else for another use.

Or what's the most interesting thing you've found in an uncleaned lot?

That's pretty cool. How dirty was it when you got it?

Interesting and very personal thread. Well I think that the most intriguing and pleasing thing that I found in an uncleaned lot, or call it what you like, is the following green piece of glass. It showed a cross and looked Byzantine.
Fortunately and with the help pf my coin-friends at CT, we identified the piece as an important and rare weight used only to weigh gold coins. Such items are only found in museums. Here it is.. Glass Weight Byz 7th c..JPG

It actually wasn't very dirty... Surprisingly many of the coins in the lot weren't very dirty at all.

Ah yes. Tick tack toeus! Great find my man. How amazing and unique. Would love to know how it was used???
Nothing that cool, but I've always been fond of this "lucky" triple strike I found in some uncleaned. a fun barbarous that stuck out (I like to imagine it's actually a usurper that time simply forgot/lost). And probably the "best" coin I've ever gotten from an uncleaned lot: DDD8E59C-16A5-4BD7-9F47-1B37FAFABDE0.png 5095324E-DF1A-49E7-80EA-B2A1FE6EAF68.png 94C9D8A3-BCF2-4A6F-B65F-BB1074432680.png

That usurper with his very nice unbearded barbarous cheek (probably about to blow bubbles) must be Tetricus II (273-274), one of the few that escaped from usurping with his life. Forgiven by magnanimous Aurelian.
