Among the pickups that I made at the Gallatin Coin & Currency Show earlier today was a 1926-S Oregon Trail Commemorative Half Dollar (NGC MS-65). To that effect, I certainly understand why this is by far one of the most popular series of classic commemorative coins, as the photos certainly do not do it justice. Admittedly, my photography isn't the best, but it mimics the style of @Evan Saltis's so-called UnTrueView© photos. If you have Oregon Trail Half Dollars or anything else you deem relevant, please don't hesitate to share your examples.
One of my favorites along with the 1936 10,006 mintage curious $150 range? As any freak of commem's like me the Oregon's are sweet. I have all but one of the 10008 mintage (spanish trail) cant get but does include a MS65 Hawiian. 10 coin set.
Nice photos and a nice Oregon. My second favorite commem. half after the obvious. One to be proud of. No photos of your new paper acquisition? Glad my UnTrueView© style is picking up steam
I bought this Guttag Family Oregon Commem while bidding on the Stack’s/Bowers September 2011 Philadelphia Americana auction.
