FYI: Easy Way to Find Dollar Coins

FYI for beginner's who want dollar coins:

I'm a new collector/CRH and wanted to pass on an easy way to collect dollar coins without buying a box. If you have an automatic car wash that accepts bills, pay with a $20 and it may return dollar coins. I found this out last night and was so excited to get beautiful, sparkling dollars; even a Sacagawea that appears to be MS.

I just put a $5 bill in the coin machine at work and get back 5 sac's or presidential dollars.

 

Come to DC and use the metro - change over 1$ is often given in 1$ coin and smaller denomination coins

Also post offices sometimes load their self-serving machines with these dollars....they usually have new mint rolls/bags that they load them with, so they come out looking nice!

 

Does that mean the machine only gives you change if it feels like it?:smile

 

NYC Subway too... or one can walk into a bank and ask for them.
