Hello group. I have a question as usual. Now that the 2007w silver eagle is being released and the mintage will be higher as compared to the 2006w silver eagle , how do you feel this will affect the price level of the 2006w. I have read somewhere that the expected mintage of the 2007w burnished could be somewhere around 1.2 to 1.5 million. If these predictions are true then this would make the 2006w "ONLY" 3 times more rare than the 2007w. What do ya'll Think, will this lower the current value of the 2006w. Thanks.

I seriously doubt the 07w mintage will be over a million. That's just a hunch. Unlike the bullion coin that is cranked out and rolled and socked away in green monster boxes, the 07 eagles are packaged individually which takes time. Even if the mintage is over a million, the lowest mintage Bullion coin is the 96 at 3+million. Do the math.

Ofcourse, the 06 will continue to rise. All of the people who have had their heads burried in a cave and didn't hear about the 06 will now see the new 07. Shocked to hear that is the 2nd issue in a new series ..they will go back for the 06W driving up demand and driving up the price. Look for the 06W to be a $600-$800 coin by 1/1/08. If the 07 is under 1 million look for that one to be $200 this time next year.

Many eagle collectors are inserting these into their bullion collections so the demand is there. Few collectors, that I know, are treating this like a seperate series that is running concurrent with the bullion coin ...which it really is.
