OK this is a medal from Mexico (c. 2012) and a complex near-beautiful design on Reverse with also beautiful Eagle obverse. It is taken from the painting - see below. I guess that this design is rather uniquely Mexican as to an outsider like me looks like a violent clash that does recall the sad founding of modern Mexico with violence begetting violence. Mexico, sad situation for what could be a powerful country. The system seems rotting from bottom to top. I have scratched it off as a destination.
"Fusion of cultures". Right. And in local "business-merger" news, a local man was seriously injured when someone stole his car and ran over him.
