Well, I think we haven't had one of these recently, so I just want to see some of the funny ebay listings people have come across. I do remember about over-priced listings, but this just seems pretty fun. (to keep this educational, don't forget fakes and stuff, overpriced things that people may not think are overpriced, and the like) Ill start off with some "perfect" steelies: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1943-P-PERF...56?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item19d1a43cf8 http://www.ebay.com/itm/1943-D-PERF...82?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item19d1a43d12 http://www.ebay.com/itm/1943-D-PERF...82?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item19d1a43d12 make this fun!
when I look at them, it says $5 shipping, but I do not see 1 lb. shipping weight for them. but everyone loves perfect!
http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Job-Lot-GB-S...6?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_205&hash=item43af953a3e Now this is just pure rubbish, some of the stuff this guy sells is good (even bought off him before) but this.... Yes I can see a silver half crown and three 3d coins which were the only ones he cleaned off, maybe he wanted to show the better ones and hide the worthless ones in dirt....
this bid has ended and has nothing to do with coins but its a very stuipid sell lmfao http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lovely-the-...ultDomain_0&hash=item43af7932ea#ht_500wt_1182
I burst out laughing when i saw it! heres one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AWESOME-U-S...81?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item35b6f47aa5 I wonder if I'll get a 64 sms?
Haha I like how it says its such a large quantity that they bought...but then it says that the supply is limited. Which one is it?
"Unsearched Proof Coinage" I leave coins for a year and this is what I get to return to? *facepalm* All that the buyers will get is common date, basic proof grade coinage. Gotta learn the hard way I guess.
Hey t$ - nothing new about any of this. You can always find stuff on ebay like this - just seems to be a little worse lately.
Here is a seller I wish I could slap in the face with a 40 pound salmon. Coinsrocksgems1. They always lie and make up some story. How they get away with it, I haven't a clue. Not only that, but the used to be called the International Numismatic Bureau and they self slabbed coins. I made the mistake of buying some cheap INB coins back in my dumber days. They were all "Gem proof" under inspection they were nicked all to heck. No way were they problem free. They have over 29,000 feedback this year alone. 77 negatives, and 111 neutrals. Let's take a look at some of their made up junk. http://www.ebay.com/itm/COLLECTION-OF-5-S-MINT-WHEAT-PENNY-ROLLS-UNSEARCHED-/221039185594?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item3376f64eba#ht_2475wt_1270 Yep. "Unsearched rolls"! The grandfather clock that continuously refills itself with old coins. http://www.ebay.com/itm/U-S-WAR-BONDS-COIN-BOX-FOUND-COLLECTIBLES-HIDDEN-ROOM-/221040768132?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item33770e7484#ht_9525wt_1270 A "evidence bag" of unsearched wheat pennies. http://www.ebay.com/itm/EVIDENCE-BA...Individual&hash=item35bce605cf#ht_3631wt_1270 A "police evidence bag" full of old coins. http://www.ebay.com/itm/POLICE-EVID...Individual&hash=item35bce631fe#ht_5417wt_1270
I must say, I'm getting more and more impressed with the quality of Detecto's posts. Good job my young friend.
Found a funny one, and it reminded me of this thread. I guess it's what I get for searching "cuds" in ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/2008-error-...748?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d307258dc
oh, shoot, I found another http://www.ebay.com/itm/1997-d-erro...982?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d331650a6 This one appears to be zinc rot or whatever, and it even has a polititcal opinion
