Found this 1970 S Lincoln the other day. Check out the 1970 S and Liberty, any explanations? Also, does it look like a small date/high 7 to anyone else?

    Thanks.

    Chas.

It looks like someone has been beating on it with a hammer - both the date and LIBERTY. And, no, it looks like a large date to me.

We see these occasionally . They are coins that tumbled for awhile inside the fin of a commercial clothes dryer.

Do a search here for dryer coin.

The tumbling along with other coins inside the same fin causes the details to be damaged in this way.

    Thanks,
    Bill
