I tend to roll stock during the summer months, so that I have a stockpile to go thru during the winter months.
I just finished $18 in Nickels.
Couldn't believe that this one popped out of the bunch.

Not much into errors.......what's going on with this one? Some sort of die break?

I could be wrong. I think it is a partial capped die. The struck thru fragment was at the bottom of the ballistic bag. Never made it to a roll.

Nice! Looks like a Struck Through issue.
    Just an extreme worn die.

I could still be off on the partial capped die.
What ever it was that this is struck thru took on design elements from the reverse die. meaning that it was stuck to the die face for more than a couple strikes.
This coin doesn't have the look or surfaces IMO to say a worn die.

Because I want to know what you mean by extreme worn dies. What does the lock topic emoji mean? There is zero radial die wear on either side, no orange peel texture etc. The details are sharp except for where the strike thru is. So, how is this just an extremely worn die problem?

I believe the Obverse die looks fine because it could of been a fresh die. The reverse die was used until they decided to finally swap it out.
But maybe I'm wrong and maybe you are right.
I gave my thought on it and that's all..
    Peace :angelic:

The jaggedness of the irregularity has me thinking struck through debris but probably not a late stage die cap. Cool find for the cold season! Great condition.

I don't know who is right. In hand and in the photos. It looks like there is a second memorial tilted about 15 degrees. With the arch in between the rim and left wall.
Either way it is still a strike thru of some sort.
    Peace

Thanks. Yeah I was surprised to see so much luster especially being a 64D.
    Definitely a keeper.
