(my first post) Is there anything useful to do with a Loomis box of 2500 brand new 2017-P Lincolns? Bill
I'm sure that rolls are needed by western collectors, since P coins rarely circulate west of the Mississippi river.
First off Bill, welcome to the Coin Talk forum community. Then you can let me have the 2017-P Lincolns. Been wanting a box or two of them for a long time. Glad some one can acquire them b/c I can not. Thanks for posting this thread. Let see how far it will go. Take care.
More than half the rolls show the 2017-P obverse. And all the ones that show a reverse are shiny new Shields. But there's no way to know for sure what's inside. My assumption is the whole box is 2017-P. But since they are unopened, that cannot be guaranteed. From a quick look at what's been sold on the 'Bay, with fine print of "no return of opened rolls", that must be the general assumption and how these things are offered for sale. Is that correct?
Welcome to CT! There's an add in coin world for 6.95 a roll I believe. I did well on eBay with nickels when they were in abundance around me. I agree to offer them to CTers first though.
Good assumption. If what you have [the whole box] was sealed and unopened when you got them, it is good to say that you have ALL 2017-P cent. You have people on the bay that will sell 5 or 10 rolls. There could be some manipulation of the rolls that are out of the [whole] box as there is talk of scams on bay. I got two rolls of cent from a merchant one time. One was H/H w/ 2017-P but the other was brand new shield on one end and memorial on the other end but I took those anyway. And now I am hesitant to open THAT roll but I might someday to just see what is in between the ends.
So here in Mississippi for some reason the only new coins we get are D-Mint. I've put up a few BU 2017-D dime, nickel, and cent rolls I received from the bank. I have never seen a BU roll of any denomination from Philadelphia. Seems like the opposite would be true in Mississippi...go figure.
