If you are in the market for a nice 1856 Flying Eagle cent, be sure to check out our Snow-9 example in the Heritage Platinum Night, coming up on Jan. 7. The Snow-9 is the best-made die pair for these key coins, and this piece is not only certified PR64 by PCGS, it also has the CAC green approval sticker showing it is solid for the grade. A Gem PR65 is a lot more expensive, and most of the PR64s lack the CAC sticker; the last one offered at Heritage in PR64-CAC was in January 2013, realizing $24,675 with BP. Although PCGS shows more than 200 in PR64, only 34 of those have the CAC sticker. The coin itself is quite nice, showing no dark areas and a razor-sharp strike throughout.

Please check it out, and bid if you are so inclined! The live auction will start at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 6 pm Eastern Time-3 pm Pacific Time, and since this is a cent it will be up for bids shortly after the start (I'd say by 6:15 or so). You can bid from the comfort of your own home via HeritageLive! if you wish, or bid live if you are at FUN. Happy New Year's everybody.
