For some reason one of my most enjoyable coin activities is finding slightly nicer than melt coins in the 90% bucket. Many of my favorite coins were obtained this way. Last weekend I pulled 1898-O and 1909-S Barber dimes in G'ish condition, both mildly better dates. I also pulled this 1839-O Seated Liberty dime. Not in great condition but for $1.30 (Silver was at $18.05 at the time I bought it) I obviously couldn't pass it up.

    Thanks for looking. IMG_4692.JPG IMG_4693.JPG

I would have bought it at that price myself.

Nice find, you definitely can't beat melt price. I don't have a ton of super finds at melt-a Fine 1931-D dime and a VG 1924-D quarter are all that come to mind.

That '24-D is a great find. I've found quite a few nice Merc's in the bucket but my all-time favorite is an XF '31-D.

Merc bins are a good place to look for bargains. As for that 24-D, it helped that only the 4 was visible. At a glance, it looked dateless. However, the details were pretty decent compared to some of the other SLQs it was with, and one more good look revealed it to be a better date.

    Both were good pickups.
