    Thanks/ I won that solidus for 850. The AR Philip I Antoninianus (Stag) cost me 500 (way over estimate):(

    A great Solidus. I like the cross on the emperor's helmet. Very good price, too. I was outbid on all my lots.

    John, Nice score :happy:! I sold a nice looking solidus of the same type as yours almost 4 years ago at a Heritage auction for $960.00 (including buyers premium), see photo below. Your coin has much better detail on the face of Anastasius ;). As Dirk pointed out, examples with a cross on the helmet are more desirable. Gem grade examples of this solidus are fetching high prices today :D.
