Not exactly. Many ancient coins were collected while in circulation and handed down through the generations. We have various bits of evidence that suggest that ancient peoples were just as fond of collecting coins as we are today. Many of them likely never saw the ground.
And to my understanding, many ancient peoples hoarded their coins and placed them in jars before burying them.
on the fields like this u can find lost coins of roman soldiers..they lying on the ground, or , 20-30 cm underground..l never find coins in the jar..its very very rare to find hoard..99 % of find are on fields like this..l was kidding little a bit, when l said 'all your collections'..
