Whitman released a 2014 edition of the classic handbook on US currency, A Guide Book of United States Paper Money by Arthur L. and Ira S. Friedberg. For those who already are dedicated to the collection, changes over the 3rd edition from 2011 will be few: the new $100s are the biggest event. Of course, for new issues, we have new signatures. Those do not alter or amend the vast inventory of Nationals, Silver Certificates, Gold Certificates, etc. That said, for the average American collector who wants to "know something" about US paper money, this book is a standard reference, in a new edition. Like the 3rd, the 4th begins with an overview and history of US paper money by David L. Ganz.
