Well one of the first coins I started collecting were the French colonial pieces. Maybe we could share some images of these silvers....


Here is a Piastre. its .90 fine and around the size of a Peace Dollar.

Here are 2 more silver Piastre's. The 1931 is my favorite of the type. It was only minted for 1 year. :yes:

It's a rather hard to find a coins from French Indochina (my collection is rather big but not complete till now):hail:

 

The design of these coins are very beautiful, isn't it?

And a couple yet. The 1/4-centime coin was minted by Etat Frances (fascist's government of France).

 

I agree Siberian Man the pre WW2 coins are very pretty. Which ones do you need to complete your set ??? :smile

 

I haven't 1 & 5 centimes of the Etat Francais, 50 centimes of France and Piastre de commerce.

 

A few more over 100 year old Piastres....

Well, enough of the Piastres for now. Lets try the 50 centers, they were only minted for 1 year. Here are 2, one uncirculated the other VF.
