French Indo-China was the colony of France until 1954. It inclusived the such territories as Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and other. During the WW II Japanese troops occupied French Indo-China (1940-1945), but French colonial administration retained own self-government. After the conclusion of the WW II French returned the full control over this colony, but in 1946 people of Vietnam, Laos & Cambodia began a struggle against a Frenchmans and in 1954 they got an independence.
This is a rather rare coin. 1/4 cent 1942, zinc. French Indo-China during the Japanese occupation, but with the French colonial administration at the same time.
Nice examples. I only have a few, here is one from an earlier time. It is a piastre de commerce, which by weight and silver content was designed to function as a trade dollar, competing with those of Mexico, etc, for trade in China. Minted in Paris.
