I have an assortment of french coins that I'm curious as to their value. They are as follows: 10 centimes: '21, '24, '28, '36, '41 20 centimes: '42, '43 50 centimes: '42, '43, '45 1 Franc: '42, '43, '45 2 Franc: '43, '44 1 Franc: '23 (this coin appears to be copper whereas the others appear to be zinc) Any information would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks! BTW I can post pictures, I just didn't want to glom up the site with pictures that weren't necessary.
The Krause catalogs give values for multiple grades of each coin, and sometimes the highest grade is worth a very large multiple of the lowest grade listed. Without some idea of the grades of your coins, any report of their catalog values would be worthless. BTW the French have been producing coins for hundreds of years. What century(ies) are yours from
You're right Sylvester. I just assumed that unless stated otherwise everyone would know I mean 19... Guess I just made an incorrect ASSumption. Would it help to post pictures? Or would I be better off going to Krause and looking for myself? I have no idea how to grade coins. They've been in circulation but appear to be in very good condition IMHO. (I have a couple of other odd ones but they are in terrible condition..like maybe they were in a wishing well or something. Very corroded) **I need to learn my lessons now y'all ~ before I even attempt to start with the American coins I have! Bust me out if need be. **
I'm working on it Cavey ...just gotta figure out this new digital camera! What shows on the viewer isn't what's showing up in the pics! I'll keep trying (I'm tenacious if nothing else) and will post them as soon as I get something worth seeing.
Sounds good, keep at it, photography is an art, it take practice to consistantly get good photos of coins.
