i have 2 of these in 1918 and 1919 lage aluminium ? 10c i have em throwing in a job lot i have but i been getting to many sniffs around em its made my very curious. i dont know if krause lists these or where they might be whatever my edition has not turned up yet so i thought i would make a post and maybe someone could enlighten me. both in very good condition very clear the 1919 has a few marks but both strong
Afraid I can't help ya much with tokens jimmy Perhaps Ian will stop by - he knows far more than I about this area
I don't know if you mean the grade `very good' (which actually in a collecting context means not so good) or in excellent condition? If you have these up for auction, provide the auction number and i'll take a look. However, I am almost certain that they'll be Chambre de Commerce D'Alger aluminium tokens (KM Tn5) cataloguing at circa $10 - $12 in EF (each), and half that price in VF. The 1918 is a tad scarcer.
thx ian that is indeed what they are, there in a job lot of 100s of french coins i have that are only making bids of 3.50 so someone is getting a bargain . i just had no idea of the price at all
i cannot post the auction number on here. However the same name i use here i use on ebay so you can check my name out and find what i sell
I see one of them. Can't tell the quality of it though from the scan, but I may just have a punt myself in due course. Ian
they sold on ebay for 1.70 lol and there is lot of old 1920s-30s francs in with them too some ya lose and some ya realy lose
No they didn't. They sold for £2.41 (much to the dismay of the underbidder no doubt). There's also that piece of emergency coinage (Chambre de Commerce de Nice) worth about $2 - $3 ....... I'll let you know what else (if anything) in due course ;-) Ian
I'm hoping to find a couple of rare `errors' in amongst the modern french junk ....erm...I mean `recently demonitised modern numismatic gems'. Ian
