free range nickel - from circulation maybe d/s

Here is a neat coin in that it has survived in such nice condition and found its way to my pocket as change early this year. This production year had a lot going on with mint marks and there are lot of varieties of this coin, most pretty common. I think this is a 1954 d/s. There are many of the indicators present. Not valuable or even rare but neat to pick it up in regular commerce.

I don't see the "S".

There are many different varieties of the D/S, but I don't see any evidence of the S anywhere.
