i am going to say 64 FBL but the issue with frankies is they always seem to be so different when it comes to a grade i find it very hard to tell with these !! hope it was a good grade and what you were hoping for !!
Creme, it is truly a beautiful coin, so please don't take my initial impressions as being too critical...just what jumped out at me on first impression: The strike out through "Stow," marks on the temporal part of Franklin's head and significant marks on the obverse in combination with what I think may be a luster break in the obverse field from 9 to 10 o'clock made me down grade it to a 63. I may be wrong, but that was initial impression.
Thanks for the replies so far! To answer your question (dimeguy), the coin has no luster breaks throughout its surfaces. It was pulled directly from a mint set and submitted. The "luster break" from 9-10 o'clock on the obverse are die polish lines.
I said 64. I see too many breaks in the bell lines for an FBL; however, since TPGs are notorious for sliding coins under labels they don't deserve, it wouldn't surprise me if the TPG gave the FBL. Nice coin.
I think it's a 64. I agree with BUncirculated, there's just a little too much activity going on in the bell lines section, close though.
