Just found my second obsolete half dollar in circulation! An AU 1952 Franklin. In the same batch of 20 rolls I also found a 1967 half, two 1971-D's with a huge die clash and a small die clash, and a 1971-D with a HUGE die spike on the obverse. See my sig line below for all my finds. :high5:
You will find an occasional Franklin or even a Walker if you search enough Halves. Congrats on the find!
I wish I could get a Canadian half in circulation. Even my banks can't get them. I've got to find me some better banks, or a contact at Brinks!
I just searched through $67 today and found nothing, except a 2001 D to fill a hole. I've searched through about $350 in halve and found only one silver 1967
It takes patience...I've had several days go by with no results and then I get one or two. On friday I picked up $200 worth of halves and only found one silver half: a 1968-D. Some days you just get lucky and I did today! So far all of the silver halves I've found are from one bank in my town. I wish you luck in your searching and I hope my luck continues!
LOL it's too late anyways! Tonight (June 19) I just found 5 more silver halves!! And two of them are walking liberties! Dates: 1935 rim damage XF net, 1942 VF, 1967 AU58, 1968-D AU58, and 1969-D MS60. This is my second best pull ever and I am psyched!! BTW, these were found out of $140 worth of rolled halves, as was the franklin and 1967 from my op.
You bet! I just love looking for silver...yesterday I found more: two 1967's and a bicentennial proof...today I found two 1964's and a 1966.
