Franklin Commemoratives on ebay

    There are quite a few auctions for the coins on ebay now (even though you're not supposed to presale more than 30 days out), and many are going for double the issue price already. What do you think this indicates for prices a few months to a year from now?

    I think prices will be kind of crazy this year because of the fast sell-out and low mintage... but even when they stabilize I think these will remain at a high premium. Just my opinion...

    Absolutely nothing. Initial feeding frenzies are irrelevant in the long term. Sometimes they are followed by dips and dives when the full extent of the supply is known, and the initial demand has been satisfied. Other times they are followed by leaps and bounds when it turns out that there is more demand than supply.
