Howdy mr22601 - Welcome to the Forum !! The value of the coin you are asking about, if in the same condition as the coin you linked to, would be perhaps 2 - 3 thousand dollars, perhaps more. It would depend on the mint mark. But understand, the coin found at the link is brilliant uncirculated, and these coins in that condition are extremely rare. You should also be aware that there are a great many counterfeit examples of these coins and it is quite possible the coin you have is one of them. Please post pictures of this coin if you can.
So, yours is a 1793 M (meaning it was minted at Toulouse). The one on the website is a 1792 W (minted at Lille). If your coin is indeed in similar condition, it might attract a value of somewhere in the region of $1000. Getting that for it is an entirely different matter. If it had been the W mint mark it would have had a higher value. The 1793 M are not noted as being particularly scarce. Most collectors are happy to have one of this `type' in their collection as opposed to trying to get each and every mint mark. There were somewhere in the region of 29 million issued for all mints during 1792 and 3. That might not sound all that much in comparison to US numismatics, but even though only few survive in superb condition, they do not attract a mega buck price range. To be perfectly honest, if I were looking to acquire a high grade `type' coin for that series, I wouldn't personally go beyond $500...but thats just me. Others may differ. Ian
