Fractional currency question

I just picked up a 10-cent fractional currency note. It's 5th series, red seal in VG condition. Does anyone have a resource handy to tell me how much it's worth?

I was at the coin shop and a woman came in to pick something up and showed the note to one of the owners. He said it was worth about $4.00 and she sold it to him for that. After she left the shop, I said I'd give him $5 for it, which he took.

I've never been into fractional currency before, but the note caught my eye so I made an impulse purchase.

Below is a picture of an identical, better-condition note I found on the 'Net.

Sweet purchase. Not that I know anything about its value, but I probably would've impulse-bought that in the same situation!

That is a very nice note, despite the fact that American notes aren't really in my line, unless they were issued prior to the 4th of July 1776 (under British colonial administration).

Thanks for the info. I whipped out the ruler, and mine is indeed a long key version. I don't know that I'll ever begin collection fractional currency, but it's a nice little piece to have.
