Hello ancient coin folks. This is a follow-up to the four Roman coins I posted on abefroman99’s thread. I still don’t have a reference book to look these up. I got them from the same little hoard as my last antoninianus with the Pegasos reverse. I’m guessing that these new four coins are also 3rd Century AD debased antoninianus with the emperor portrait having a radiate head. [I really have to get some ancient books & learn something about these coins before you all start thinking I’m dumb as a shrub]. I can’t make out the emperor names in the legends. The partial letters that I can read just aren’t doing it for me. I’d appreciate some help with the emperors & dates. Coin #1:
Coin #1 is Licinius II struck 321-324AD Cyzicus Mint - Officina 4 - AE3 - RIC VII 18 Obverse: DN VAL LICIN LICINIVS NOB C, helmeted cuirassed bust left with spear & shield Reverse: IOVI CONSERVATORI, Jupiter standing left, eagle before, captive behind, XII [gamma?] in right field, SMKdelta in exergue Regards, -Kurt PS. IMP C VICTORINVS PF AVG, radiate, draped, cuirassed bust right / INV-I-CTVS, Sol walking left, holding whip, right hand raised, star in left field. RIC V-2 Cologne 114; C 49, Elmer 683; Sear 11170. RIC 114 2 & 4 are Gallienus
#4 Gallienus AE Antoninianus. GALLIENVS AVG, radiate head right / APOLLINI CONS AVG, Centaur walking left holding globe and trophy. Mintmark Z, H, N or I. Cohen 74, RSC 74. Sear5 10177 RIC 164
