too bad you didn't find a 1966. I didn't know coinstar didn't accept canadian coins around here. But 1968 was the last year for a silver canadian dime I think, so maybe that threw off the CoinStar.
Are you sure the 68 is silver? They switched over that year and are hard to tell apart. Nice find though http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins-prices.php?coin=10-cents-1968&years=10-cents-1965-1989
I heard that if you throw a canadian silver coin into a lake, it splashes differently than a clad coin thrown into a lake. Or maybe that was something else. Maybe check the edge to see if they're all silver.
LOL I would lose it if I did that I checked with a magnet is 68 is not silver but this 65 is. I have never seen a copper edge on the Canadian dime coins. They all look silver.
I have a changeover 1968 Canadian quarter and it's not silver, unfortunately. It's seems to be a bit harder to find silver coins from 1968. Still, very nice finds! Surprising that the Coinstar does not accept Canadian coins, because I've gotten them in change numerous times.
